When a woman becomes a mother, she is a mother every day for the rest of her life... Today, however, mothers are celebrated in Brazil and a few other places in the world (not in the UK though, it was on the 30th March).
Regardless where the mothers are, thank you!

I am finally able to tell you all about my experiences adding a "Range Extender" battery to my Fiido C21 e-Gravel bike.
It has been recorded in 2 stages. The 1st on the 18th of February and the 2nd on the 21st of April 2024.
The intention was to convey my experiences on this product (call it a product review if you want) in the hope that they can be of use by people with the same bike or that have the intention of acquiring this bike or bikes from this brand.
This video has NOT been sponsored by Fiido and I paid for the bike and the range extender battery with my own money. I have NO affiliation to Fiido whatsoever.

Hope the video is useful to someone. If you enjoyed it or if it helped you in some way, please do leave a Thumbs-up and subscribe to the channel.

Thanks for watching!

Hello friends,
Some people do triathlons and run marathons… not me, but please allow me to share a small moment of personal pride 🥳
For the 1st time (since I started cycling indoors again at the end of January) I managed to do 15 Km in less than 29 min (28 min and 22 sec, to be precise), in the hardest configuration possible in my indoor cycling setup. This is my best time so far.
Over the last 80 days I cycled 40 days, in other words every other day (in fact I usually only cycle indoors on week-days and seldom on weekends).
So, I can be a little bit proud also that I am keeping the consistency and the discipline in combatting the laziness bug and improving slowly. It was never about challenging myself. I just wanted to lose a little bit of weight and be in better shape for summer (which in the UK is not very long).
In these 80 days I cycled a total of 766 Km indoors which is 650 Km more than what I cycled in all of 2023… ☹ I know, not much to feel proud about last year, but there are times when you get the bear and times when the bear gets you. So, it may not be much, but to me it makes a difference.
In this process I became very curious about the results I was getting and started to pay more attention to body responses and how I was feeling in every one of these instances. I am asthmatic, so some days are better than others. Exercise and oxygenation go hand in hand. I even emailed the company who sold me all the gear years ago (Planet X, here in the UK) asking them some questions so my findings and analysis could be a little more based in facts rather than perceptions alone. They are very good and knowledgeable in what they do and I got a reply from them the next day.
I started writing a blog about all of this, which I am not sure if it will be of interest to anyone, but then that is the case for most blogs written, isn’t it?
Anyway, if you read this post all the way to this point, thank you for giving me your attention and letting me share this humble moment of personal happiness with you. I feel stronger and ready for summer now... 😉🚴‍♂️
Hope everyone is OK and keeping the wheels turning.
Live long and cycle! 🖖

We write our story using bikes,
chasing after memory on very narrow streets,
uphill without a water bottle,
downhill with wind on our face.
Because it doesn’t matter where the bike takes you to:
it’s all a balance of periods and ratios
it’s all a matter of chains and crowns
of grease lubricating people’s lives.
Like in life,
there is a spinning wheel, a pushing wheel
and, with the current situation
if a wheel is punctured, you’re guaranteed to fall down;
a patch will fix it, a wound can be healed.
Don’t be afraid, or you’ll lose your focus,
you have to get the weighs and the centres of mass to coincide
The effort of a couple for a single moment:
two forces come into play, one single movement.

Ride – Pursue your story wherever it goes.
Ride – Stack up mile upon mile.
Ride – It’s you who wanted the bike.
Ride – Faster.
Ride – Faster.

If it’s free, the pinion is chosen by the crown,
which, through a chain, affects the motion of the system:
mechanical monarchy,
that swore eternal loyalty to the laws of physics,
statics, thermodynamics,
almost democratic if, when it stops, you can go freewheeling,
or tyrannical, with a fixation on the sprint,
without brakes protecting you from the impact.
It’s the task of the pinion to make the revolution
to bring the movement to every direction
in a constant feat of acrobatics, it irradiates the energy
from the centre towards the periphery.
It’s just a matter of ratio between gears,
and everything runs smooth until you get discouraged,
for here you - out of breath - are the only engine,
the only one pushing uphill the baggage of your life.

Ride – Pursue your story wherever it goes.
Ride – Stack up mile upon mile.
Ride – It’s you who wanted the bike.
Ride – Faster.
Ride – Faster.

You know well that history is cyclic,
just as patience is biblical
and the worst rise is a descent that’s steep,
abrupt, riddled with hairpin turns, winding,
with your weight shifted forward, down the incline.
Like a controlled avalanche, you plunge down in a nosedive,
the landscape whooshes by, zooming in.
You look where you’re going, you go where you like,
you keep your eyes open and you know how you are, you do as you can.
The finish line comes when you’re least expecting it:
it’s a parking lot with bikes leaning on their kickstand,
bikes abandoned there, without a sparring partner,
ready to go again, if someone is going.
Ready to go far away, changing the relationships, taking it easy.
Imagine that, once, a bike made a man cry:
they became friends, she asked for his forgiveness.

Ride – Pursue your story wherever it goes.
Ride – Stack up mile upon mile.
Ride – It’s you who wanted the bike.
Ride – Faster.
Ride – Faster.
