Thank you for noticing our van sticker and taking the time to learn about us. We’re in our 60s and are trying to blend our love for cycling with a part-time nomadic lifestyle, though we still have a permanent home in the UK. Our main project is to explore and document as many EuroVelo cycling routes as possible. EuroVelo is a network of 19 long-distance cycling routes across Europe, ranging from over 10,000 km to just over 1,000 km.

Our mission is to work with the EuroVelo project and encourage governments to improve cycling infrastructure, making cycling safer and more accessible. We believe cycling is not only adventurous but also one of the healthiest and most eco-friendly ways to travel. As we journey along these routes, we record our experiences, highlight best practices, and promote businesses that support cyclists. Our goal is to make it easier and safer for others to enjoy these routes, sharing our findings in both digital and print formats.

Our process involves spending anywhere from a day to several days on portions of a route, riding both directions, visiting local attractions, and connecting with hospitality and service providers—like hotels, campsites, restaurants, bike shops, and emergency services. We also gather information on how to access these routes via public transport.

We invite you to follow our journey on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Threads, YouTube and TikTok.

Our guiding principle is to respect nature: we strive to leave no trace except for our tire marks, often cleaning up areas where we stay. We also make sure not to disturb local communities, choosing legal parking spots and keeping a low profile. Most rest days are spent at paid campsites, but that’s not always possible when cycling.

As we live part-time in a campervan, we also wanted to share the “vanlife” part of this adventure and decided it would be best to keep these topics separate, hence the main reason we created another blog called “Roam to Ride” or R2R.

If you are less interested in cycling, but would like to know more about living in a van, then we hope you will find this page useful. As it is these days we have also created a separate FacebookInstagram and YouTube channel for R2R and would be thrilled if you could follow us there too.

We’re approachable and welcome anyone to say hello or reach out online. We value your feedback and suggestions to help us improve our project. For privacy, we only share our contact numbers in person at our van, not online.

Thank you for your interest and support.
